I am amazed that God chose to tell the good news that Jesus is born, first to the shepherds outside of town. They were considered dirty, poor and second class people. Often they also had a criminal background and no place to go. But God saw them and gave them purpose and identity in calling them to Jesus. I love our God who is passionate for the poor and the people outside of our "well behaved" society! God is choosing them to meet him - today and every day of the year!
