The Fire

We had another big fire recently and our whole mountain got burned again. It was fascinating to watch it in the night, as the fire line was all along the mountain. Today, I had the chance to go up and see the „beauty“ of the post desaster. Everything is burned and pitch black. With the recent rain, the soil looks dark and rich. My very much loved Fynbos is burned and there is really nothing left. And there…. The new creation arises.
This week I had a heart to heart conversation with one of our young girls in our teenager programs. She got hurt multiple times in the past, raped, abused, neclected and is trapped in a gangsterism network. We spoke about healing and restoration.
Healing - is it really possible if you are so broken? Is it an option to find peace?
My heart goes out to our young people in HopeTown. I feel the pain and the hardship. Looking at the rejuvenation of nature today, I felt reminded that everything is possible. There are seeds planted, roots grow underneath the surface and suddenly you see the life!
Yes it is possible to heal even after a disaster. It is possible to be restored. God can do anything.
